The Townsend-Smith Foundation held its first annual Hike for Hospice Saturday.  Approximately 50 walkers enjoyed a 5 km walk starting from Milton Community Park through the surrounding Willmott neighbourhood. Mayor Gord Krantz attended and kicked off the walk.

The Townsend-Smith Foundation is a volunteer-run group founded in 2009.  They are dedicated to bringing a 10-bed residential hospice to the North Halton area.  Discussions are underway with Conestoga College about building on land in the Milton Education Village (MEV).
