Milton Town Council voted unanimously to shift the final property tax installments. The move is designed to provide tax relief in the wake of COVID-19.

The final installment dates are deferred as per the following:

  • June 30, now due August 31, 2020
  • September 30, now due October 30, 2020

This deferral effectively affords taxpayers an extension to remit the final tax installments without incurring fees.

A further relief program is now available for those property owners that are adversely impacted by COVID-19. The COVID-19 Pre-Authorized Plan (PTP) is available following the submission of an application if eligibility criteria is met.

In general, taxpayers not currently on the regular monthly withdrawal program or have taxes paid for by their mortgage company, can apply for a one-time COVID-19 PTP re-payment plan.

The plan consists of (up to) six monthly withdrawals beginning as early as August 12, 2020, through to a final withdrawal date no later than January 13, 2021. Property owners can read up on the program here
