Milton Film Festival Hosting Outdoor Screening

The Milton Film Festival will be presenting its first annual ‘Starry Nights’ event on August 30th at Milton Community Park. The event will feature a free outdoor screening of the classic family comedy BACK TO THE FUTURE, which will be projected on a giant inflatable screen supplied by Film.ca Cinemas of Oakville.

The screening starts after dark (approximately 8:15 pm) and is free of charge, with no pre-registration required. The location is at the North end of the park, behind the Milton Sports Centre, in a natural ‘amphitheatre’ next to the skate park. Water, soft drinks and snacks will be available for purchase, and movie-goers are encouraged to bring blankets and/or lawn chairs to sit on.

The event is a first for the Milton Film Festival, which traditionally takes place at the end of January. “We’ve wanted for some time now to expand beyond being just a one-weekend event,” explains Festival Director Jennifer Smith, “and given the enormous success of last year’s Festival, we decided this would be the perfect time to take that leap.”

The Festival is also planning a special Halloween movie night on the 26th of October at Hugh Foster Hall, featuring the Mel Brooks comedy YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN.

Starry Nights is generously sponsored by Film.ca Cinemas, Gordon Food Service, and SellOff Vacations. For more information, please visit the website at www.miltonfilmfest.com.
