The Town of Milton will host a statutory public meeting next month to gather feedback on the first sections of its updated official plan, a key document guiding growth and development to 2051.

The meeting is part of the multi-year “We Make Milton” initiative, launched to create a modern, forward-looking official plan. Following extensive public engagement, the project team has refined high-level policies focusing on sustainable growth and livable communities. More detailed land-use policies are still under development.

The hybrid meeting will occur at 7 p.m. on Dec. 9, 2024, in the Council Chambers at 150 Mary Street. Community members can attend in person, participate electronically, or watch a live stream. The related report to Council will be available for viewing on or after Dec. 2.

Those wishing to delegate at the meeting must complete an online delegation form by noon on Dec. 5.

The Milton Council endorsed the vision for the new Official Plan in 2021 under the theme “Milton 2051: Choice Shapes Us.” The vision reflects the town’s diverse, innovative, and growing community, emphasizing a variety of options for living, working, and mobility as the community evolves.
