In a collaborative effort between residents and the Town, Milton has announced the return of its outdoor neighbourhood ice rink program for a fourth season, bringing winter fun to local neighbourhoods. Applications for the 2025-26 season openened on Oct. 8.

Groups of six or more adults can build and operate a rink in a pre-approved location, provided they meet program criteria and take on agreed-upon responsibilities, including regular flooding, snow clearing, and safety checks. The Town provides the rink and guidance throughout the season, while volunteers handle day-to-day maintenance.

Neighbourhood rinks offer a valuable community-building opportunity, allowing neighbours to come together to build and maintain a local outdoor ice rink for everyone to enjoy free of charge. The program also encourages active winter living and strengthens connections within the community.

The Town encourages workplaces, returning volunteers, and new applicants to get involved, providing a unique opportunity to give back through volunteer efforts and help create another season of winter fun.

Applications close Nov. 9. For full program details, including volunteer responsibilities, site options, and the online application form, visit milton.ca/NeighbourhoodRinks.
