Ahmed Ismail, 28, of Toronto, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the 2020 killing of 16-year-old Ezekiel “Zeke” Agyemang from Brampton.

The accused pleaded guilty on October 4, 2024, in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Milton.

Halton Police responded to reports of a homicide on 10 Side Road near Guelph Line in Milton on June 30, 2020. Agyemang was found with severe gunshot injuries.

After an investigation by the HRPS Homicide Unit, four individuals were initially arrested in connection with the killing. Ismail had originally faced charges of kidnapping and first-degree murder. The courts later stayed the two charges against two of the accused, while the case against the fourth suspect is pending.

Ismail’s sentencing is scheduled for December 17, 2024. The Halton Police expressed hope that this development may bring some healing to Agyemang’s family and the community.
