The Halton Police have successfully apprehended a suspect concerning an arson investigation into an October 2, 2023, incident. Responding to a fire at 326 Bronte Street North around 4:00 am, authorities discovered a semi-trailer truck ablaze in the parking lot. Swift action by the Milton Fire and Rescue Services contained and extinguished the fire.
Upon investigation, police determined the fire to be a deliberate act of arson. Gasoline was found to have been poured on additional semi-trailer trucks in the lot, though they were not ignited. A pickup truck parked adjacent to the burning semi-trailer also suffered damage.
On November 12, 2023, the Halton Police arrested 31-year-old Kumar Vinit of Brampton in connection with the incident. Concurrently, a search warrant was executed at Vinit’s residence in Brampton. Vinit now faces charges of two counts of arson and one count of mischief over $5000. The investigation continues as authorities work to ensure a thorough resolution to this case.
