Milton’s ArtSparks is presenting two opportunities for Milton to connect through Art on a virtual level.
The first is a performance from Twin Flames, an award-winning Indigenous folk duo. They present their music in English, Inuttiut, and French. They’ll be offering two performances:
- Community/family performance – May 13, 7:30 p.m.
- School/home school performance – May 14, 10 a.m.
The second is a Community Quilt virtual exhibition. This activity invites residents to work collaboratively by submitting artwork, poems, soundtracks, or videos that will be used to create squares for an interactive online quilt. Visitors will be able to click on the square to learn more about each piece, and its contributor. Submissions will be accepted beginning May 17, 2021.
The ArtSparks program is designed to give students in grades 1-8 a chance to attend and experience a live performance at the FirstOntario Centre for the Arts free of charge. During the pandemic they’ve been offering virtual programming free of charge. For more information visit their website
