Milton Council has endorsed the current government structure. The unanimous vote came at the March 4th council meeting.
The notice of Motion was presented by Mayor Gord Krantz. Krantz, along with other Halton Mayors have been consulting with a three-member panel on the future of Regional government. The panel, part of a Ford government promise to review and improve the structure of regional government including how to access services, and if any services can be better delivered. Burlington, Oakville, and Halton Hills have passed similar motions.
“The Town of Milton will continue to serve you with local services, and Halton Region will do the same,” Ward 3 Regional Councillor Mike Cluett assured residents in a blog entry posted on his website. The province is looking for online feedback from residents. For more information on how to participate in the process visit the website.
