Downtown Milton Welcomes the Holidays

There is something special about being able to stroll down Milton’s charming historic downtown while shopping for gifts, listening to your favourite holiday music and taking part in seasonal activities for the whole family.

Hosted by the Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area (DMBIA) on Main Street in Milton between, Martin Street and Brown Street, HolidayFest is a celebration of the season. The event will run from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Main Street East will be closed to vehicles between Martin and Brown Streets for the event.

“Downtown Milton is a great place to be over the holidays and HolidayFest gives us an opportunity to showcase our businesses while giving residents a chance to get in the spirit of the season with things to do for both parents and kids. With everything from shopping to crafts to a visit with Santa and even a charity hockey event, why wouldn’t you come Downtown for the Holidays?” said DMBIA Executive Director, Cheryl Ciccarelli.

For the kids, HolidayFest offers a visit with Santa (see website for times), crafts and activities. There is even the chance to win a $150 Gift Card to Ripley’s Aquarium for those who enter the Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt!

For big kids, there is the chance to shop for cool gifts at the pop-up market, enjoy some great holiday music and choose from some amazing options for food and drink.

Families are invited to warm up at the fire pits and take part in the family photo challenge. Take a picture of your family at the event and post it to Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #MiltonHolidayFest19 for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to a Downtown Milton BIA business.

The Milton Winterhawks’ Minor Novice Select Team is partnering with the Townsend-Smith Foundation for a Hospice Hockey tournament.  All ages, and skill levels are welcome.  For more information visit the website.
