On Wednesday November 24th, 2016 Halton Regional Police Service responded to a fatal collision on No. 5 Side Road, east of Fifth Line, in the Town of Halton Hills.
At approximately 12:34 pm, a westbound GMC Envoy was traveling on No. 5 Side Road when it lost control and entered the south ditch.
The GMC driver, a 30 year old male Halton Hills resident, died as a result of the collision.
A passenger in the GMC, a 23 year old female Saskatoon Saskatchewan resident, was transported to Hamilton General Hospital with life threatening injuries.
Due to the nature of the collision, the Halton Regional Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken carriage of the investigation. No. 5 Side Road was closed for approximately 6 hours for the scene investigation. The road continues to be closed due to a damaged hydro pole struck during the collision.

The weather has brought with warnings of icy road conditions. HRPS want people to be careful on rural routes They tweeted: ” North Halton very icy conditions on rural routes, please use caution, put the cell phone down and focus all your attention on the road.”
