An initiative of the Halton Environmental Network (HEN), Halton Food is thrilled to announce the commencement of Halton Garden Week 2024, inviting the vibrant Halton community to partake in a celebration of sustainable gardening.
Generously supported by the Town of Milton and Halton Region, the event will launch the 2024 Garden Season with a dynamic hybrid experience featuring both virtual and in-person learning opportunities.
The week-long affair promises a diverse array of workshops, presentations, and events delving into sustainable gardening practices, encompassing themes such as food cultivation, composting techniques, seed preservation, indigenous flora, and fostering pollinator habitats.
Halton Garden Week 2024 is open to all members of the Halton community, free of charge.
The event will seamlessly blend virtual presentations with an in-person Halton Seedy Saturday to be hosted in the centrally located town of Milton, drawing enthusiasts from across the region. The initiative aims to cater to individuals of all proficiency levels in gardening, fostering unity and inspiration through a shared appreciation for nature.
The pinnacle of Halton Garden Week, Halton Seedy Saturday, will occur at the Milton Sports Centre on March 2nd, from 10 am to 3 pm. This community-centred extravaganza will feature three interactive workshops, a multitude of local seed vendors, engaging activities for children, and informational booths highlighting the endeavours of local environmental organizations.
