The Town of Halton Hills’ series of fire pit pop-ups in local parks returns this weekend.
As part of the town’s Hey Neighbour program, which aims to foster connections between local residents, there will be a pop-up held each Sunday until March 1.
The first pop-up of the new year will be on Sunday, Jan. 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. in McNally Street Park, located at 12 McNally St., in Georgetown.
And here’s the remainder for the winter (all from 2 to 4 p.m.):
Jan. 18, Prospect Park, 30 Park Ave., Acton
Jan. 25, Shelagh Law Parkette, 75 Confederation St., Glen Williams
Feb. 1, Cedarvale Park, 185 Main St. S., Georgetown
Feb. 8, Jubilee Park, 141 Niagara Trail, Georgetown
Feb. 22, Greenore Park, 66 Greenore Cres., Acton
March 1, Hidden Lake Park, 46 Hidden Lake Trail, Georgetown
Locals can gather around a crackling fire and catch up with neighbours, friends or meet new people.
Free hot chocolate, courtesy of the Tim Hortons location on Guelph Street in Georgetown, as well as free candy canes, courtesy of the Optimist Club of Halton Hills, will be provided.
Residents can check the Halton Hills website for future pop-up dates and locations, as well as more Hey Neighbour programs.
