The Town of Halton Hills will be hosting a public meeting to review two development proposals that could bring both industrial expansion and new residential housing.

Town boundary expansion

The first item on the agenda for the meeting, set for Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m., involves a proposal for the property located at 9094 Regional Rd. 25 in Halton Hills.

The applicant is seeking to expand the town’s urban boundary to include the lands. If approved, the amendments would grant the necessary land-use permissions to develop a mix of industrial warehouse spaces and commercial retail uses.

Residents seeking more information on the proposal can contact Jessica Rahim at 905-873-2600, ext. 2376, or by email at jrahim@haltonhills.ca.

2 semi-detached homes

The second proposal is for a semi-detached building at 0 Elizabeth Dr. in Acton. The application requests amendments to allow for the construction of the building, which would result in two new housing units.

For more information on the Acton development, residents can contact Ruth Conard at 905-873-2600, ext. 2214, or by email at rconard@haltonhills.ca.

The town will be offering a hybrid format for the meeting, allowing residents to participate either in person at town hall (1 Halton Hills Dr., Georgetown) or virtually via Zoom.

Members of the public who wish to speak as a delegation must preregister by 6 p.m. on Feb. 17. Registration can be completed by emailing clerks@haltonhills.ca or by filling out a registration card at town hall.

Each speaker is limited to five minutes. Any presentation materials must be submitted to the clerks’ department prior to the start of the meeting.
