Halton Regional Police have laid multiple charges and are investigating a string of robberies and home invasions across Milton, Oakville and Burlington. The incidents include cellphone store robberies, an attempted jewellery store heist, and two violent home invasions. Several suspects have been arrested, while others remain at large.

Three held for cellphone store robberies

Police have arrested three individuals and laid multiple charges in connection with two cellphone store robberies in Milton and Oakville.

Four masked suspects, dressed in black, entered the Bell store at 1099 Maple Ave. in Milton, confronted two employees and fled with multiple cellphones in a grey Honda CR-V. Two days later, officers spotted a grey Honda CR-V parked outside the Rogers store at 1500 Upper Middle Rd. in Oakville. Three masked occupants were seen inside the vehicle. Police quickly intervened, blocked the vehicle from leaving and arrested the trio before they could enter the store. The vehicle was later confirmed to have been stolen from Toronto.

A 15-year-old boy from Toronto is facing several charges in connection with both incidents. The other two accused — 28-year-old Shaquane Grant and 19-year-old Nathan Richards-Dick, both of Toronto — have been charged in connection with the attempted robbery at the Oakville Rogers store. All three were held for a bail hearing in Milton. Police say additional suspects involved in the Milton robbery are still being sought.

Teen arrested after attempted jewellery store robbery

Police have arrested one suspect following an attempted robbery at a jewellery store inside Burlington Centre mall. The incident occurred when four male suspects, dressed in black and armed with hammers, entered the mall. All wore face coverings and gloves as they approached Peoples Jewellers but were confronted by a lone security guard.

Police say the suspects attempted to flee, but the guard was able to detain one of them. The remaining three fled in a newer model white Honda Civic. No injuries were reported and nothing was stolen. Officers arrived shortly after and took the detained suspect into custody.

Sangang Dorjee, 18, of no fixed address, has been charged with attempted robbery, disguise with intent and assault with a weapon. Investigators later determined the same Honda Civic was also involved in an attempted carjacking in Brampton on March 31. In that incident, three suspects allegedly attacked a man in a parking lot, demanding his car keys and phone. The victim was able to fight off the attackers, who fled in the vehicle. The investigation into the identities of the remaining suspects continues.

Search for three suspects after vehicle theft

Police are investigating a home invasion and vehicle theft that occurred late at night in Oakville and are seeking three suspects.

Three males, one armed with a large knife, allegedly forced their way into a home near Randall Street and Watson Avenue. The suspects confronted the adult male and female residents, demanding the keys to a Land Rover parked in the driveway. A physical struggle ensued before the suspects located the keys and fled in the stolen vehicle. The male resident sustained minor injuries.

All three suspects are described as males wearing dark clothing and face masks. Investigators believe they arrived at the scene in a light-coloured sedan, possibly a Honda Civic. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Home invasion in Milton

Police are searching for two suspects following an attempted home invasion in Milton early in the morning.

Two masked suspects, one armed with a hammer, forced entry through the front door of a residence near Wilson Dr. and Joyce Blvd.

Police say the intruders confronted an adult male inside the home and demanded the keys to his vehicle. A brief physical altercation occurred as the victim tried to gain control of the hammer. The suspects ultimately fled the scene on foot without taking any property. No injuries were reported. Both suspects are described as males wearing dark-coloured clothing and face coverings. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
