Halton Region updates COVID-19 vaccination Schedule for May

By: Laura Steiner

Halton Region has updated its COVID-19 schedule for the rest of the month.

“Opening appointments for more residents will reduce transmission, severe illness and death, and get us closer to achieving community protection,” Halton Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) Dr. Hamidah Meghani said.  The new schedule includes anticipated eligibility dates for:

  • Those age 16+ who cannot work from home (Monday May 10), adults 40+: Wednesday May 12
  • Adults 30+: Friday May 14
  • Adults 16+: Wednesday May 19

The dates are contingent upon vaccine supply, which comes from the federal government.  Regardless of receiving the vaccine, residents should still continue adhering to public health measures such as physical distancing, staying home as much as possible, and wearing masks while out in public.   For more information on booking an appointment visit the province’s website.

Halton region recorded an increase of 95 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, with Milton accounting for 26 of those cases.
