Love is a wide spectrum. We feel romantic affection for our partners. We feel camaraderie with our friends. With our family, we feel safe and protected. With our pets, we enjoy playing and companionship. And with our community, we feel supported and seen. This Valentine’s Day weekend, Act of Faith Productions, based in Oakville, will be putting on a variety extravaganza that respectfully and entertainingly celebrates every type of love that makes our lives rich and meaningful. Titled Heart to Heart: A Variety Show Celebrating Passions, it is a considerable alternative to the usual Hollywood rom-coms playing at the movie theatres. Why not partake in something a little more local to celebrate the heart-shaped February holiday?
Act of Faith Productions is partnering up with the Burlington Performing Arts Centre to stage its diverse love-themed show on February 12, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. and on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. On Valentine’s Day itself, the revue will be performed at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon at West Plains United Church, located on Plains Road. Tickets for both venues can still be purchased on the Act of Faith Productions website directly. Tickets for the BPAC performances alone can be purchased directly from the BPAC’s website here. Tickets cost only $35.
Like a box of assorted chocolates received from a loved one as a gift, Heart to Heart promises a taste of everything. And it’s all locally sourced, an added bonus. Leslie and Christopher Gray, a pair of longtime theatre performers, are the owners of KooGle Theatre Company on Headon Road. As a married couple, they’ve put together a chirpy comedy skit that will, in turn, poke fun at the cringe-inducing awkwardness of a first date while also portraying the lighthearted tenderness between two people who have genuine feelings for each other. Their act, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” will be a sticky-sweet Valentine’s Day farce.
Natasha Fiorino is a local humourist who has been performing for the majority of her life as an actor. She studied at The Second City comedy theatre in Toronto, which is famous for being the host of early career performances by the late Canadian icon Catherine O’Hara. Trained by the institution that produced many of Canada’s funniest names, Fiorino is set to provide Heart to Heart with her own unique brand of improv comedy relief.
“We can be passionate about many things in our lives for a number of reasons,” says Fiorino, when asked about how her improv performance will represent a form of love. “We often want to share that love with others. As a creative, you are always observing the world from a creative lens. I love performing and connecting with different artists.”
“While Valentine’s Day provides the backdrop, Heart to Heart expands the definition of what we love and why it matters,” expresses Mary Rose, one of the show’s producers, along with Claire Sears. “Through music, dance, comedy, spoken word, and even ventriloquism, the show highlights the passions that shape our lives. Light-hearted, heartfelt, and unexpected, Heart to Heart invites audiences to see themselves reflected onstage.”
“At its core, Heart to Heart is a celebration of local talent,” Rose continues. “Featuring performers from across Hamilton, Halton, and Brant, the show celebrates the depth and diversity of the local arts scene. It brings together artists and audiences in a shared experience of connection and creativity.”
