Outdoor skating rinks in Acton and Georgetown are now open for skaters.
The Town of Halton Hills, in a Jan. 30 post on X, shared that the town-operated rinks at Prospect Park (30 Park Ave., Acton) and the small rink at the Georgetown Fairgrounds (1 Park Ave., Georgetown) are open to the public, while work continues on the larger pad at the fairgrounds.
All town rinks are lit daily from 5 to 11 p.m.
Volunteer-maintained rinks are also available at Joseph Gibbons Park (77 Weber Dr.) in Georgetown, as well as Bovis Park (31 Wallace St.) in Acton and Glen Williams Park (509 Main St., Georgetown).
The town offers support to residents interested in volunteering to maintain an outdoor rink on town property.
Individuals or groups can contact the director of parks and open space at 905-873-2601, ext. 2274 for more information.
Outdoor rinks are weather dependent. Residents are encouraged to check rink conditions online.
