As many as 241 golfers united recently to support United Way Halton & Hamilton at Milton’s 24th Annual Mayor’s Golf Tournament. With strong participation from local workplaces, donors, and sponsors, the event raised over $230,000, benefiting over 220,568 individuals and families in Halton and Hamilton who relied on vital social services last year.
Since its inception, the Mayor’s Golf Tournament has contributed more than $3.6 million to the local United Way campaign. The funds support over 49 United Way-backed programs in Milton, helping local families in need. Brad Park, President and CEO of United Way Halton & Hamilton underscored the importance of this event.
“The Milton community has always shown remarkable dedication and compassion. The Annual Mayor’s Golf Tournament is a testament to the strength of our collective spirit, which demonstrates a desire to create meaningful change and uplift those in need throughout Milton.”
Last year alone, over 21,556 Milton residents used services from United Way-supported programs. This event illustrates how Milton residents contribute to their community’s well-being by supporting events like the golf tournament. The commitment to unity and support is central to the initiative.
On September 21, 2024, United Way Halton & Hamilton will announce its 2024-2025 fundraising goal at the Annual Plane Pull event, focusing on the theme “United in ACTION” to drive community support and ensure no one is left behind.
“The funds raised will help us to continue supporting individuals and families facing significant barriers, ensuring they receive the vital programs and services they need,” Brad Park added.
United Way Halton & Hamilton (UWHH) is a beacon of hope, dedicated to creating impactful change by addressing the community’s most pressing challenges. It connects volunteers with local needs and provides operational support to local charities. In collaboration with its network of partners, UWHH works tirelessly to strengthen the non-profit sector and reinvests every dollar raised back into the community.
Last year, UWHH’s efforts helped 220,568 residents across Halton and Hamilton through 117 life-changing programs, a testament to the power of community and our impact when we come together.
