Halton Healthcare Services (HHS) has been given a grant from the Milton Community Fund. The $54,193 has been put towards a portable ultrasound system at Milton District
“The new equipment allows for urgent imaging to be performed within the Emergency Department at the patient bedside,” Care Manager for the Emergency Department, Fracture Clinic Natalia Thomas said. HHS submitted the application last year.
The equipment is described as portable and ergonomic which makes it safer to use. “In addition, the units can connect with other hospital technology, allowing for faster and more timely sharing of information,” Thomas added.
The Milton Community fund comes from a portion of the funds received by the Town of Milton from OLG’s Mohawk Park. “We are always grateful for the funding provided from the Milton Community Fund. “This year’s grant means our emergency physicians have state-of-the-art diagnostic tools they need to assess critically ill patients quickly and reliably at the bedside, Milton District Hospital Chief Operating Officer Janet Skupsky said.
