Halton Healthcare is welcoming a new General surgeon. Dr. Diana Carter will be working on Milton District Hospital’s (MDH) surgical team.
“Dr. Carter brings a new perspective and excellent surgical skill set in minimally invasive surgery,” MDH Chief of Surgery Dr. Kevin Kwan said.
Carter brings expertise in a variety of procedures including breast cancer, colon cancer, gallbladder disease and hernia repair. She tries to use less invasive laparoscopic techniques whenever hospital to help with patients’ recovery. ”
“Unlike traditional open surgery that uses a large incision, minimally invasive surgery uses multiple small incisions. Patients have less pain, a decreased risk of wound infection and they are able to go home sooner,” she said.
Carter completed her education, including a General Surgery Residency, and Masters Degree in Health Management at the DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University. She completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at St Michael’s Hospital in 2020.We’re delighted to welcome Dr. Carter,” MDH Chief Operating Officer Janet Skupsky said.
Dr. Carter’s hobbies include gardening, yoga, and hiking at Mount Nemo with her dog.
