Milton Muslim Community Stands with the Rohingya

Milton’s Muslim Community came together Sunday evening to stand together for the Rohingya community in Myanmar.  The Rohingya are an indigenous Muslim community to the  Rakhine state in the majority Buddhist state of Myanmar.  The rally was organized by Burma Task Force Canada, a group that focuses on bringing awareness to the issues. Recent attacks by Myanmar’s military have forced an estimated 146, 000 Rohingya refugees to flee to  Bangladesh in an area known as Cox’s Bazar.  They have been deemed “the world’s  most persecuted minority” by the United Nations (UN).
