Milton Public Library (MPL) has joined forces with several Ontario libraries to enhance access to eBooks and audiobooks, providing residents with an expanded digital collection.
Through OverDrive’s Reciprocal Lending Agreement, MPL patrons can now borrow digital materials from Burlington, Hamilton, Kingston Frontenac, London, Mississauga, and Ottawa public libraries. The partnership significantly increases the variety of available books, authors, and genres.
“This collaboration is a major step forward in enhancing our digital offerings,” said Sarah Douglas-Murray, CEO and chief librarian of Milton Public Library. “By working with these well-established libraries, we are providing our community with greater access to diverse reading materials, ensuring more opportunities for learning, discovery, and enjoyment.”
MPL already offers reciprocal borrowing for physical collections with select partner libraries. This new agreement builds on that foundation, ensuring patrons have greater access to digital resources while prioritizing access for home library users.
Milton residents can explore the expanded collection using their MPL library card through OverDrive or the Libby app. The initiative enables seamless borrowing across participating libraries, making it easier to find popular and in-demand titles.
