The Town of Milton has unveiled its plans for reopening into the province’s stage three. They’ll take a slower approach reopening their facilities over the next two months.
The breakdown is as follows:
July 16, 2021:
Rentals: Organizers should be contacting the facility booking unit for guidance on ice, rink floor, and gym rentals including capacity limits. Spaces will also open to spectators
The week of July 19, 2021:
- Fitness programming: Programs to be offered at either the Mattamy National Cycling Centre (MNCC), and Milton Sports Centre. The Milton Leisure Centre will be used based on demand
- Fitness classes will require pre-registration. Registration is limited to how many can safely have the two metre physical distancing.
- Events: Permits will be available for indoor, and outdoor events with capacity limits as well as other restrictions. Organizers are advised to contact the Facility Booking Unit for more to rent Town space.

The week of July 26, 2021:
- Indoor sports, and skating will begin on a pre-registered drop-in basis
- Indoor walking tracks at the Mattamy national Cycling Centre (MNCC) and Milton Sports Centre will be open in a pre-registered basis
- Swimming: Pre-registered swimming will open to operate at the Milton Sports Center, and expand to other facilities according to demand. Pre-registered swimming will continue at Rotary Park until September
- Aquatics leadership will operate out of the Milton Leisure Centre, and Milton Sports Centre
The week of August 3:
- Pre-registered swimming lessons will begin the week of August the third. Lesson options will be available online starting July 17, with registration opening July 20.
The week of September 7: Milton Seniors Centre
- Virtual programming continues throughout the summer
- Reopening for the building is scheduled for September 7, based on the province’s reopening framework, and current public health guidelines.
- In person-assistance for registration will available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am- 12pm beginning August 17.
The dates, and information listed are subject to change based on public health guidelines, and adjustments to regulations. Stay current by visiting the Town of Milton’s website for all the latest COVID-19 information. The province is expected to remain at stage 3 for at least the next three weeks.
