Halton Regional Police are praising the honesty of a Milton teen for turning over a large sum of cash she found on the ground on Saturday evening. Local media identify the teen as 17-year old Kylie McDonald.
McDonald was walking in the Derry Road and Trudeau Drive area of Milton when she noticed a package on the ground. Upon inspection she discovered that the bag contained several bank deposit envelopes with thousands of dollars in cash inside. It was apparent that the deposit envelopes were from a local business.
McDonald promptly brought the cash to the local police division. Using police resources, officers were able to contact a representative of the business and return the money. The deposit envelopes had been inadvertently dropped by an employee.
It is acts of honestly and civic duty like this that replenishes faith in the good-hearted nature of the majority of youth in our community. Halton Regional Police acknowledges this young woman and commends her for her honesty and integrity.
