Milton Weather Alerts: January 10, 2017

A winter weather system has made its way into the Milton area.  Snow began early this morning, and we are expecting 5-10cms by the time it ends this evening.  The weather is expected to change over to rain as the temperature rises to +5 degrees Celsius this evening.  Halton District School Board (HDSB), and Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) have cancelled buses to all parts of the region.  H.D.S.B. have closed schools in Stewarttown, Pineview, Limehouse, Killbride, and Brookville because the majority of students are bussed to these locations.  The temperature is -1 right now, feeling like -5.

Halton Regional Police Service (H.R.P.S.) are reporting several accidents over the last few hours in the Milton area over their twitter feed.  They are reporting a change in conditions as you travel north of 5 side road.   Environment Canada warns drivers of changing conditions over the course of the day.  “Untreated roads may become snow-covered and slippery.”  This storm is expected to change conditions for the evening commute as well.
