MyRec stands for Muslim Youth Recreation. Their goal is to give Muslim Youth a safe place to pursue common interests. For the last two years MyRec has organized a youth basketball league in Milton. On April 23, 2016 they officially ended their season with an awards’ presentation at the 2016 MYFest and a basketball all-star game against a league from Brampton.
The league teaches values of community and brotherhood, and the basics of basketball. “MyRec always reminds us that we’re brothers. Respect each other; we respect our elders, and we respect people younger than ourselves.” 13-year old Mustafa Hasan said of his experience with the league.
