Niagara Police Seek Canada-Wide Warrant

By: Laura Steiner

Niagara Regional Police (NRP) are seeking a Canada-wide warrant for Justin Kuijer.  Kuijer is wanted in connection for the attempted murder of a Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) employee, and the first degree murder of seven-year old Nathan Dumas.

Dumas was found on the morning of March 17, 2017  by his mother Whitney in an apartment at 173 Queenston St, in St. Catharines.  He was taken to hospital, where he died early Saturday morning. Whitney Dumas  had just ended a six-year relationship with Kuijer.

Local media reports say the couple were going to talk about arrangements for their three kids, after the split.  Kuijers left to get a coffee.  That’s when Whitney Dumas entered the apartment to find her son.  The cause of death isn’t being released by police because of the investigation.

Kujier was last seen fleeing the scene of the RBC incident.   He was driving a dark grey 2009 Pontiac Montana van, with an Ontario license plate number: BYTE392.  A pink floral sticker paying tribute to a missing person “Ashley Simpson” is on the rear driver’s side window.

He is considered armed and dangerous.  If anyone has seen Kuijer or the van call 911.  Do not approach.  NRP is reminding the public that these decals can be removed.

Update 4pm:  Niagara Regional Police have been granted a Canada-Wide Warrant for Justin Kuijer, on second degree Murder and Attempted Murder.
