The Halton Police have arrested an Oakville doctor on charges of sexual assault following an incident at a local clinic. Dr. Clarence Clottey, 64, was taken into custody on Oct. 8, 2024, and charged with one count of sexual assault.

The alleged assault occurred at the Bristol Family Physicians clinic, located on Bristol Circle in Oakville. Police were alerted after an adult female patient reported being sexually assaulted during a visit to the clinic.

Clottey was released pending a court appearance in Milton. Investigators believe there may be additional victims and have released a photo of the accused in hopes of identifying others who may have been affected.

The HRPS is urging anyone with information or anyone who has been victimized by the accused to contact their Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit.

Sexual assault includes any unwanted touching of a sexual nature or actions that violate the sexual integrity of the victim. There is no statute of limitations on reporting a sexual assault in Canada.
