The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has announced a second-quarter payment of $2,023,885 to the Town of Milton for hosting Elements Casino Mohawk.

To date, Milton has received a total of $4,180,254 during OLG’s current fiscal year (April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025) and $146,648,943 since the gaming site opened in August 1999.

These payments to host communities are calculated using a consistent formula based on a graduated scale of gaming revenue at each site.

“Land-based casinos serve as a source of good local jobs and generate important economic activity in municipalities that host gaming sites,” said Zee Hamid, Member of Provincial Parliament for Milton.

“Proceeds from gaming received through the Municipality Contribution Agreement with OLG, in turn, help strengthen local infrastructure and support community programs.”

Since 1994, host communities have benefited from more than $2.1 billion in non-tax gaming revenue. OLG is committed to sharing proceeds from casino gaming with local communities to foster economic development, including infrastructure improvements and job creation. Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s dedication to reinvesting 100 percent of its profits back into Ontario.

In the past eight years, service providers have invested over $2.2 billion in private sector capital across the province, resulting in the development and opening of seven new casinos, one planned development, and various gaming expansions and non-gaming amenities since 2016.
