Ontario Announces New, Improved Schools in Ontario

Students in Milton are benefitting from new and improved learning spaces this school year, with finishing touches wrapping up on a brand new school and a new addition.

Mitzie Hunter, Minister of Education, was joined by Indira Naidoo-Harris, MPP for Halton to visit the new Martin Street Public School in Milton today. The new school welcomed more than 540 elementary students for the start of the school year, and features modern amenities including a media and innovation room equipped with the latest technology.  “Martin Street Public School has played a key role in the lives of countless Milton families for nearly 100 years, and I’m so pleased it will continue to bring students and families together,” Halton MPP Indira Naidoo-Harris said.  The new building replaces the original Martin Street Public School built on the same site in 1920.

Students in Milton will also benefit from an addition to Craig Kielburger Secondary School. The new expansion features an addition of 10 rooms and a new greenhouse to support student learning in a Green Industries Technology program.

These projects are part of the largest infrastructure investment in hospitals, schools, public transit, roads and bridges in the Ontario’s history. To learn more about what’s happening in your community, go to Ontario.ca/BuildON.
