Ontario Expands Indoor Capacity for Meeting, Event Spaces

Ontario is easing restrictions on meeting and event spaces. The limits have increased to 50 guests per meeting room/ event venue. The restriction was effective August 21, 2020

“Allowing for multiple meetings or events will allow convention centres, hotels and other professional meeting facilities to welcome back more visitors and employees,” Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries Lisa MacLeod said. Limits on outdoor event venues remain at 100. Event staff, and personnel are excluded from the limit.

The province also passed a regulation requiring one person per party to give their contact information to aid in contact tracing. The new rule took effect August 21, 2020.
