Ontario has received 14000 submissions through the Ontario Together web portal. The initiative was launched March 21 by Premier Doug Ford as an appeal to businesses and individuals to provide necessary equipment and supplies for Ontario frontline workers in the battle against COVID-19.
“Since our initial call to action was issued, we have had a tremendous response for Ontario businesses,” Ontario Premier Doug Ford said. 7500 emergency supply submissions have generated $90 million worth of purchases including:
- 5.1 million gloves
- 20 million masks
- 250,000 face shields
- 50,000 units of clip-on hand sanitizer for OPP officers
The portal has also received over 1200 submissions to support the delivery of mental health solutions. “It’s heartening to see how many made-in-Ontario solutions have been offered to directly help those on the frontlines,” Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade Minister Vic Fedeli said.
