The Halton police have made several arrests in connection with recent crimes, including a Hamilton man charged with an indecent act on a GO Train, a home invasion suspect arrested in Oakville, and a Milton man charged with impaired driving. Investigations continue into a targeted shooting in Georgetown and auto-theft arrests in Oakville.
HAMILTON MAN HELD FOR INDECENT ACT
The police have arrested and charged a Hamilton man following an indecent act on a GO Train. A group of women were travelling westbound on the Lakeshore West line when a male suspect boarded the train, sat near them, and exposed himself while committing an indecent act. The women relocated to another train car and reported the incident upon arrival at Appleby GO Station.
Following an investigation, police identified and arrested 35-year-old Dhiraj Bhalla of Hamilton on Feb. 25, 2025, as he exited a train at Union Station. Bhalla has been charged with one count of the Indecent Act and was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton. Investigators believe there may be additional victims and have released a photo of the accused.
ARREST MADE IN OAKVILLE HOME INVASION
The Halton Police have made an arrest and laid multiple charges in connection with a violent home invasion in Oakville.
Officers responded to a residence near Coronation Drive and John Laird Circle after three masked suspects forced entry, pointed firearms at the occupants and demanded valuables before fleeing with a stolen Mercedes SUV. Police swiftly recovered the stolen vehicle, but the suspects managed to escape. The 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau took over the case, utilizing various investigative techniques to identify a suspect. As a result, on March 6, 2025, Numan Khan, 27, of Etobicoke, was arrested and charged with multiple offences. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to search for additional suspects.
MILTON MAN CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING
The police responded to a single-vehicle collision on Regional Road 25, south of Derry Road in Milton. One occupant sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Following the investigation, a 22-year-old Milton man was charged with operating while impaired, G1—driving at an unlawful hour, and driving under suspension. The Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken over the investigation.
TARGETED SHOOTING AT GEORGETOWN HOME
The Halton Police are investigating an early morning shooting at a residence in Georgetown. Multiple gunshots were fired at a detached home near Highway 7 and Trafalgar Road. The shots struck a front window of the residence, but no injuries were reported. Police believe the gunfire came from Highway 7 and that the incident was targeted, with no ongoing threat to public safety. Investigators seek dashcam footage from the area between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. and urge anyone who witnessed suspicious activity to contact the police.
TWO ARRESTED IN AUTO-THEFT INVESTIGATION
The Halton police have arrested two suspects in connection with auto theft following a traffic stop in Oakville. A police officer conducted a traffic stop on an Audi sedan near Neyagawa Boulevard and Gardenbrook Avenue. The officer noticed suspicious items inside the vehicle, including balaclavas, gloves, and tools, prompting further police surveillance. Officers tracked the Audi as it travelled to Mississauga, where two male occupants picked up a stolen Toyota Tundra from a hotel. One suspect drove the Tundra to a new location while the other followed in the Audi. At this second location, police arrested both men. Luca Lacroix (21) of Saint-Hubert, Quebec, has been charged with property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of break-and-enter instruments. Lacroix is also wanted in Quebec for breaching release conditions. Teddy Sanon (22) of Montreal, Quebec, faces the same charges. Both suspects were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
