Police Blotter: Hit-and-run, sexual assault arrest, stabbing, and fatal crash under investigation

Halton Police have reported multiple incidents, including a hit-and-run that left an elderly pedestrian injured in Georgetown, the arrest of an Etobicoke man charged with sexual assault, a stabbing involving two teens in Oakville, a Halloween hit-and-run in Milton, and a fatal crash claiming the life of a 17-year-old driver.

PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY SUV

A dark-coloured SUV struck an elderly pedestrian at the intersection of Mountainview Road and Campbell Gate on December 19, 2024. The pedestrian was rushed to Georgetown Hospital and is currently listed in stable condition. The vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene and was last seen driving south on Mountainview Road.

Police are urging any witnesses and drivers with dashcam footage or Tesla vehicles in the area around that time to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit.

ETOBICOKE MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT

The Halton Police have arrested and charged an Etobicoke man for the Sexual Assault of a 13-year-old female in Halton.

The police arrested Masoud Abdulla, 35, of Etobicoke, on Dec. 16, 2024. He has been charged with sexual assault, luring by telecommunications, sexual interference and obtaining sexual services for consideration. Abdulla used social media to connect with the victim. Then, he drove to Halton to pick her up the evening of the assault. Before the assault, the victim had never met the accused in person.

15-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED AFTER STABBING

A 15-year-old Oakville male has been arrested and charged following a stabbing incident at Memorial Park on Oak Park Boulevard. Halton Regional Police responded to the scene on Dec. 15, 2024, where a 13-year-old Oakville boy was found with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to hospital and has since been released.

Police say the suspect and victim were known to each other and had arranged to fight in the park. The accused has been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

POLICE SEEK DRIVER IN HIT-AND-RUN INCIDENT

The Halton Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run collision on Halloween night in Milton.

The incident occurred when two male youths were walking eastbound on McCuaig Drive. As they crossed the intersection of McCuaig Drive and Andrews Trail, they were struck by a vehicle that had made a right turn (northbound) onto Andrews Trail. The vehicle reversed from the intersection and fled west on McCuaig Drive before turning north onto Thompson Road. Other vehicles at the scene remained to assist. The two youths suffered minor injuries, with one being transported to hospital.

The vehicle involved is described as a newer model, a black 2021 or 2022 Honda Civic.

DRIVER KILLED IN COLLISION

A 17-year-old male driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Milton. The driver, the sole occupant of a 2005 Honda Civic, was travelling southbound on the 6th Nassagaweya Line when the vehicle lost control and struck a hydropole on the east side of the roadway. The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the incident. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
