Missisauga, Ontario – Seva Food Bank is launching our new Home Delivery program. Overcoming food insecurity is no easy task for anyone—and for individuals with mobility issues due to age, physical disabilities, mental health, or chronic illness, getting food can seem next to impossible.
We launched a pilot version of the Home Delivery program in July where we currently serve about 10 families a month; however this number is growing every day. We would like to become fully operational by December 2016, with the hopes of delivering to 40 families a month.
In order to launch this Home Delivery program, we need your help to raise $20,000. Your contribution to Seva’s home delivery program will fund its essential logistics— transportation to and from clients, healthy and appropriate food that will last 10-14 days, and designating staff to make the initiative possible.
The donation you make will go directly towards addressing the needs of some of the most vulnerable and marginalized individuals in our community. Providing clients with the ability to cook and prepare their own meals means they will be able to maintain their independence, ensure a high quality of life and become self-sufficient.
We have a little more than a week left to raise funds for this important program, as the campaign ends October 31st. If you would like to learn more about our Home Delivery program, visit our website:
