There is currently a text scam circulating that asks Costco members to click on a link to claim their 2 percent Executive Member reward.
The text is a SCAM.
According to the company’s website, Costco does not send text messages with respect to the 2 percent Executive Reward. The 2 percent Executive Reward is mailed to our members. Do not answer the text or click on the link as it is not from Costco.
They also warn that there is also a second text scam circulating asking members to click on a link to claim their Capital One Costco Mastercard Cash Back reward.
The text is a SCAM.
The Capital One Costco Mastercard Cash Back reward was mailed by Capital One to eligible cardholders mid-January 2022. No digital coupon will be distributed. Do not answer the text or click on the link as it is not from Costco or Capital One.
The company advises that people who suspect they may be the target of a scam should:
- Never respond to emails that cannot be verified.
- Never provide personal information via email or by text.
- Contact the business by using legitimate phone numbers to verify the request.
- Enter websites using your browser and not by clicking on provided links.
- Be cautious of any solicitation requesting that you deposit a check or pay a fee to collect a prize.
