Free Evenings Offer Residents a look at Milton History

The popular and informative MHS (Milton Historical Society) Monthly Speaker Series continued May 16th with a presentation about historic lighting by Geoff Acheson.

“The Milton Historical Society Monthly Speaker Series attempts to offer a range of speakers that cover historic matters locally, regionally, provincially or nationally. Depending on their personal interests, guests will likely find one or more of the presentations over the year of particular interest,” says event organizer, John Challinor.

All Monthly Speakers Series presentations take place in historic downtown Milton, at The Waldie Blacksmith Shop located at 16 James Street. The sessions begin at7:30 p.m, and there is no charge to attend.

The remaining 2024 Series line-up is as follows:

  • June 20, 2024 — Member Potluck Dinner And Tour Of Local Historic Home
  • July & August 2024 — No programming
  • September 19, 2024 — History of Kilbride, Helen Calloway
  • October 17, 2024 — History Of The Mill Pond, John Duignan
  • November 21, 2024 — Temperance In Milton, John McDonald
  • December 5, 2024 — Second Annual Christmas Member Wine And Cheese Evening
