With spring-like weather on the horizon, community partners in Milton are planning a clean-up of Beaty Woodlot, which is bordered by Beaty Neighbourhood Park North, the Union Gas Trail and Agnew Crescent. This woodlot is an important part of Milton’s urban forest and the Sixteen Mile Creek watershed.
The clean-up is set for Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will be coordinated by the non-profit group Field and Stream Rescue Team. The group is looking for extra assistance from volunteers to support the clean-up and estimate that around 50 volunteers are needed to complete the work during the four-hour time period.

Town staff continue to seek ways to partner with various organizations and capitalize on opportunities to enhance and protect Milton’s network of Town-owned green spaces. The Town of Milton appreciates the continued efforts of Field and Rescue Team, community volunteers and other partners to help keep Milton’s green spaces clean and beautiful.
The Town of Milton reminds residents that dumping garbage is prohibited in Town parks, woodlots and green spaces; violators may be subject to a fine under the Provincial Offences Act. Residents are encouraged to report illegal dumping to the Town’s Licensing & Enforcement Unit.
