Town of Milton’s Mobility Hub Comes to Council August 24

The Town of Milton will bring its planned Mobility Hub to Council’s meeting scheduled for August the 24, 2020. The plan being brought forward looks to reshape Milton’s downtown core as a transit-friendly hub.

The Study focuses on the area within a 10-minute walk from the Milton GO Station. This area is a destination point for residents and visitors and has tremendous potential for transit-supportive development and public realm enhancements.

“Milton’s downtown core is already transforming with several high-density residential developments built, under construction, approved or in planning stages,” said Barb Koopmans, Commissioner, Development Services.

The Study includes a Demonstration Plan that shows one way that the area may look like at full build-out, in about 30 years. The recommended planning framework provides flexibility for many approaches. This means, the area may not look exactly like the Demonstration Plan, it simply illustrates the scale of development required to achieve the density target mandated by the Province of Ontario.
