Potential backups could affect Reg. Rd. 25 at Hwy 401, starting Sunday, January 10.  That is the earliest possible date for possible strike action by provincial Corrections’ workers. The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (O.P.S.E.U.) is  involved in contract negotiations on their behalf with the provincial government.  Among their demands is to be named an essential service, which would make their salaries similar to police.

OPSEU asked the Ministry of Labour for a No Board Report December 29, 2015.  This triggers a 17 day period after which the parties are in a legal strike/lockout position.  It ends January 10, 2016 at midnight.

The Town of Milton advises travelers to use the James Snow exit off 401 to access urban Milton.
