The United Way Halton & Hamilton will host its highly anticipated annual ‘Plane Pull’ event and campaign kick-off at Hamilton International Airport on September 21, 2024.

The family-friendly event will see teams of 15 participants each attempt to pull a 200,000-pound Airbus plane fifty feet along the tarmac in the shortest time possible.

Each participating team is tasked with raising a minimum of $1,500, contributing to the broader fundraising goal for the United Way Halton & Hamilton.

Children will also have the chance to join in the fun by pulling a smaller-sized aircraft, ensuring everyone has a role to play.

The event will officially mark the start of the United Way Halton & Hamilton Annual Fundraising Campaign, during which the 2024 fundraising goal will be announced for the first time.

In addition to the plane pull, attendees can look forward to various family-friendly activities, including face painting, a bouncy castle, food trucks, and more, making it an enjoyable experience for all.

Key attendees from the United Way include Brad Park, President and CEO of United Way Halton & Hamilton; Claude DeMone, Regional President of Southwestern Ontario at RBC and the 2024 Campaign Cabinet Chair for United Way Halton & Hamilton; and Kristen Jacob, Vice President of Marketing and communications for United Way Halton & Hamilton.

The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Hamilton International Airport, 9272 Airport Road, Mount Hope.
