October 22 was election day. Milton chose to give Gord Krantz another term as Mayor and elect three new councillors.

The total results of the votes for Regional Chair and French School Board Trustees will be declared by Halton Region and the School Boards respectively.
Unofficial results of the 2018 Municipal Election are posted online . Krantz was returned with 18,571 votes. His closest opponent was Mian Amir Naeem at 2308. Joining him on council are three new councillors. In ward 1 Kristina Tesser Derksen defeated incumbent Cindy Lunau by over 1400 votes. In ward 2 John Challinor defeated Galen Naidoo-Harris by 200 votes. In Ward 4 Sameera Ali defeated Jean Claude Ngansoo by over 900 voters. There was a total of 23,139 ballots cast.
The official election results will be certified and posted by the Town Clerk in the near future. Joining Ali, Challinor, and Tesser-Derksen on Council are returning councillors: Rick Di Lorenzo (Ward 3), Zeeshan Hamid (Regional Councillor Ward 4), Colin Best (Regional Councillor, Ward 1) and Rick Malboeuf (Regional Councillor, Ward 2).
