Burlington residents are invited to welcome the Lunar New Year at the Year of the Horse Celebration, presented by Redleaf Cultural Integration, taking place this Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre. The event promises an evening of cultural connection, artistic expression, and community celebration as the region marks one of the most significant dates on the Chinese cultural calendar.

Redleaf Cultural Integration (RCI) is a Halton-based organization dedicated to creating meaningful spaces for people of Chinese heritage to belong, connect, and integrate into the broader community. Its mission is to grow a vibrant Chinese community in Halton while supporting active participation in the day-to-day life of the region. The Year of the Horse celebration reflects that vision by offering an inclusive event that welcomes the entire community to experience and learn from Chinese cultural traditions.

The evening will feature a lineup of performances showcasing traditional music, dance, and cultural presentations that highlight the richness and symbolism of the Lunar New Year. Among the performers is the RCI community choir, founded in 2018, known for its consistent commitment to cultural expression. The choir rehearses weekly in person throughout the year and holds weekly online sectional rehearsals, bringing together voices dedicated to celebrating heritage through song.

In addition to the stage performances, attendees can explore a free cultural exhibition in the atrium of the Performing Arts Centre. The exhibition will include interactive displays and live demonstrations designed to bring the beauty, history, and traditions of the Lunar New Year to life, offering an educational and engaging experience for all ages.

Tickets for the event are available at $39 for regular admission, with children aged 12 and under priced at $20. Group tickets are also offered for parties of 10 or more at $30 per person, available by phone, in person, or with a promo code. More information about the event and ticket purchases can be found at redleafculturalintegration.com.

As Burlington continues to grow as a diverse and inclusive city, events like the Year of the Horse celebration provide an opportunity for residents to come together, share cultures, and begin the Lunar New Year with joy, learning, and community spirit.
