July 11, 100 women who care held it’s third meeting where it awarded Halton Women’s Place with a cheque for $5,000.
100 Women Who Care is a group of local women who meet every three months at different venues and hear presentations from three different charities. The members are each asked to provide a cheque for $100, and vote for their choice. The group with the most votes wins.
This month’s candidates were the Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC)’s infant food bank, the Halton Multicultural connections, and Halton Women’s Place.
Halton Women’s Place runs two shelters, and a crisis line for women fleeing abuse in Halton Region including one here in Milton. For more information visit their website
