Ali Mohammad of Milton Identified as Hamilton’s Ninth Homicide of 2020

Milton Resident Ali Mohammad has been identified as Hamilton’s ninth homicide of 2020 in an incident that took place July 19, 2020.

Two groups of male teens met to discuss an ongoing dispute in a plaza parking lot 11 Kendale Court. Ali was part of a group of between 8-10 males from Peel Region travelling in four cars. The group was swarmed by 20-30 males from the Hamilton area carrying weapons including knives, sticks, rocks, and a conducted energy weapon (CEW).

The occupants were removed from two vehicles described as police to be Ford Mustang and BMW. Members of the Hamilton group drove dangerously around the plaza’s parking lot, with the BMW striking two males from the Hamilton group. Three of the teens from the Peel group were injured and sent to hospital. Two were stabbed, while one is now recovering in hospital from surgery.

Ali was reported missing to Hamilton Police at around 5am Sunday morning. They found Ali’s body in the northwest corner of plaza parking lot at 11 Kendale Court. He is being remembered as a “kind, gentle, and innocent soul who had no evil intentions towards anyone.” A GoFundMe campaign has been started to help the family cover expenses.

Police have identified a 17 year old male from Hamilton who appeared in court charged with Second Degree Murder, Assault with a weapon, and two counts of Aggravated Assault.
