COVID-19 Related Service Disruptions Continue for School Buses in Halton

By Laura Steiner, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter

COVID-19 related service disruptions continue for both Halton Boards of Education.  A pop-up note on the website for Halton Transportation Services advises families on how to stay informed.

“Due to high rates of driver shortages as a result of COVID-19 isolation requirements, families of students who take the school bus should stay up to date on route cancelations and delays,” the note starts.  Routes will be cancelled for multiple days.  Or for only one time of day (mornings or afternoons)

Listings on the website reveal how many days the bus is cancelled for, as well a projected restart time

Parents can stay up to date by:

  • Visiting the website: www.haltonbus.ca or:
  • Creating a an account through the “parent portal ” in order to subscribe for cancellation and delay emails.
  • Downloading the “BusPlanner Delays App, in order to stay up to date on the latest cancelled routes.
