Fraud Charges after Fair in Milton

The Halton Regional Police Service has completed an investigation into the ‘Forget Me Not Family Fun Fair’. This fair took place in the town of Milton in 2013 and 2014.

In the summer of 2013, the tragic death of a Milton toddler prompted the community to run a charity event called the ‘Forget Me Not Family Fun Fair’.  More than 1400 people attended the fair and several thousand dollars were raised for two children’s charities.

This fair was successfully run again in 2014, raising thousands of dollars, attracting hundreds of people and receiving significant media attention.

Following a public complaint in 2018, the Halton Regional Police Service Regional Fraud Unit began an investigation in these fairs.

On April 10, 2019 one of the event organizers, Rose Passarelli (38) of Milton was arrested and charged with:

  • Fraud over $5000
  • Fraud under $5000
  • Theft under $5000

Passarelli will be appearing in Milton Court on May 14, 2019.
