Lakeeran To Be Released In Canada

SURREY – The well-known Punjab-based entertainment park pioneer Wonderland Amusement Parks Pvt., the operators of one of the biggest entertainment parks in Punjab, is getting into the film business and their debut release isLakeeran, a big budget Punjabi film that is a fun-filled romantic drama geared towards the whole family.

Lakeeran (Life Lines) stars Harman Virk and Yuvika Chaudhary (star of a very popular TV reality program which airs nationally in India) in lead roles with veteran actors like Shivendra Mahal, B.N. Sharma, Poonam Sood and Nirmal Rishi.

This is romantic family drama, which is being distributed in Canada by CSS (Chak Samunder Shera) Releasing, will have a wide appeal to Punjabi film lovers.

The film revolves around the return of a brash NRI youngster (Harman Virk), who comes to Punjab for a visit and gets into a complex romantic situation with a village girl.  The story may seems like a simple romantic tale at first but soon takes an unexpected turn that would have the audiences clutching their seats and experiencing a whirlwind of emotional drama. The story promises to bring back the lost charm of old school romance and the importance of the sense of belonging.

Lakeeran, which was shot in the spectacular country of Portugal and the beautiful Punjab, features short situational songs shot amidst the vibrant colors of Punjab.

The love song ‘Nimma Nimma’ has been picturised in Kashmir bringing out the beauty of heaven on earth for the audiences to enjoy. The breath-taking cinematography is by Nazir Khan, Anshul Chobey and João Monge.

The film’s music is done of star Bhangra-dance producer Dr. Zeus and Santosh Kataria with 7 melodious songs; including two short folk songs on the plight of destiny, composed by Arif Lohar. The versatile Lakeeran soundtrack album promises music for all tastes. The songs are sung by popular names like Zora Randhawa and Fateh; and the traditional music lovers are catered with songs sung by Nachhatar Gill, Jaspinder Narula and Feroz Khan.
