Ontario Announces New Website for Businesses Facing Challenges

Ontario is launching a new website dedicated to helping businesses overcome challenges posed by COVID19.  “COVID-19: Tackling the Barriers will help those looking to retool their operations in order to produce health-related products, or those who want to continue operations in this new social-distancing environment.

“As a government, we must be prepared to work with businesses and who some flexibility in helping them to overcome challenges they may have never faced before,” Ontario Premier Doug Ford said.  Businesses are invited to submit potential roadblocks through the website.

“During this extraordinary period we need to do everything we can to support businesses as they struggle to operate essential business, or wait for the outbreak to subside,” Associate Minister of Small Business and Red Tape Prabmeet Sarkaria said.  The province will allow temporary changes to rules and regulations in order to further aid the supply chain.

The launch of the new website comes a day after the release of a strategy to reopen the Ontario economy.  Ontario recorded an increase of 525 cases overnight bringing the overall total to 15,381 cases.
